School of Professional Programs
Specializing in the Adult Student
Our mission is to provide quality driven adult education built on a strong liberal arts foundation that will embolden and enhance the ability of professionals to succeed in a global economy. The adult student can choose to pursue an undergraduate degree, professional certification, or executive-level training, either on campus or online.
What is an Adult Student? Defined at Marist as someone who attends college in a non-typical way.
What does that mean? It means our adult students are usually older than 25, commute to campus, attend classes part time, and balance work, family, and other life committments.
How do we specialize? We offer various options to complete your undergraduate degree. Formats such as 100% online, classroom mixed with online, as well as weekend and evening classes. Our transfer credit friendly options allow students to maximize use of credits earned from previous colleges / universities, ACE accredited professional certifications, and credit for certain life work experiences.
Virtual Town Hall with President David Yellen
On October 17, 2018, President Yellen was available during a Virtual Town Hall event to answer questions from our students at a distance. Check out the questions and answers from your peers during this 45 minute session moderated by the Dean of the School of Professional Programs, Danny Szpiro.
